Product Design Manager

Product Design Manager will lead a team of product designers responsible for designing of part the customer experience. This role will work collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and Customer Support leaders to enable intuitive, impactful, ethical, on-brand experiences. 

  • Lead product design in one of our product verticals:
    • Inspire and motivate a team of 2 - 5 product designers;
    • Grow designers in craft, process, soft skills, and career.
  • Uplevel our design quality:
    • Come from excellent product design or UX design experience, your portfolio is so amazing we’ll hire you as a Principal Designer;
    • Have strong knowledge across the design process, from user research to visual polished design;
    • Have a keen eye for great design, and are able to coach other designers to improve their design quality.
  • Manage your team’s operations:
    • Allocate design resources to ensure design coverage with the product vertical of about 3-5 Product Managers;
    • Ensure designers have ownership and growth in their work;
    • Know when to roll your sleeves and contribute, leading the team through difficult decisions.
  • Be the customer champion:
    • Work closely with the Group Product Manager of the vertical on product strategy and vision;
    • Improve design process and collaboration between designers and other functions, such as user researchers, product managers, and engineers;
    • Ensure that our solution is ethical, impactful, and solves customers’ needs;
    • Evangelize design and research in the vertical and the company as a whole.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in a related design field, with 3+ years in product / UX design;
  • 2+ years experience leading a team of Product Designers;
  • An excellent portfolio with examples of products that you or your team have launched;
  • A passion for helping designers reaching their fullest potential;
  • A passion for ethical, impactful financial services;
  • Experience influencing cross-functional leadership.

Not required, but highly preferred:

  • Experience in a startup environment a plus;
  • Experience in mobile app design a plus;
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C products a plus.
